Introducing Aximmetry’s Unreal Engine integration for Broadcast and Film

Besides Aximmetry’s native engine, Aximmetry software provides Unreal Engine support at two distinctive levels.
AX Scene Editor – the whole feature set of Unreal Editor is included
AX Scene Editor (an Unreal Editor modified by Aximmetry) lets you edit your virtual scenes and render them in Aximmetry to benefit both from the world-building and rendering features of UE and the advanced virtual studio capabilities of Aximmetry. It supports the use of all Unreal plugins.
AX Scene Render Node – a solution for your remote renderers
AX Scene Render Node, similarly to AX Scene Editor, allows rendering cooked and uncooked (in Editor Data Mode) virtual scenes created in Unreal Editor and their on-the-fly modifications via Multi-User Editing, from another machine. It supports the use of all Unreal plugins. The only difference from AX Scene Editor is that editing of virtual scenes via Unreal Editor is not available.
Aximmetry Technologies is committed to integrating the latest Unreal Engine versions which are production-ready into its AX Scene Editor and AX Scene Render Node. Our policy is to hold off integration until after the first patches of the official version are released. Please always check our Version History for updates on the new Aximmetry software versions.

Aximmetry’s powerful broadcast and film tools, designed for professional use, complement the rendering powers of Unreal Engine

  • Aximmetry is a “studio glue”, a useful middleware for easy interfacing of a multitude of hardware used in a broadcast/film production environment. For example, various input and output possibilities and tracking systems. It encourages the most logical workflow in Virtual Production. Using Aximmetry's advanced compositing technologies, both engines can work in conjunction.
  • The Unreal Scene is rendered by Unreal Engine in the background, while other functionalities - like keying, compositing or adding overlay graphics - are done by Aximmetry's native engine.
  • Using both engines simultaneously, for example adding AR elements.
  • The very same Aximmetry software licenses can be used for green screen production, AR, and XR.
  • An Aximmetry Wizard is provided, a guided setup tool, that makes the configuration of any virtual studio project intuitive and stress-free.
  • Aximmetry offers a full XR feature set:
    • Intuitive setup of the workflow with LED screens
    • Accurate set extension
    • Instinctive tools for color calibration of LED Walls
    • Presets for extending your LED virtual production with AR elements
    • Several tools for working with large-scale LED walls such as easy slicing up of LED walls when a large contiguous LED surface has to be driven by multiple machines, and many more.
  • Aximmetry software offers superior quality live compositing that includes light wrap, customizable reflections and shadows of the talent, and visual interactions of virtual and real elements.
  • The advanced, award-winning Aximmetry Chroma Keyer is included in all editions. Aximmetry’s 3D Cleanplate feature guarantees perfect keying even when using a moving camera and large green screens.
  • Aximmetry's user-friendly calibrator reduces the tedious job of calibrating your lenses and cameras to child’s play.
  • Aximmetry ensures user-friendly control of virtual cameras.
  • It makes placing talents in the virtual environment quick and easy.
  • Its flexible node-based scripting tools ensure that users maintain full control of the production.
  • It has large amounts of user-friendly tools for realtime pre- and post-processing of the rendered image to complete the entire studio workflow.
  • Aximmetry's native 3D engine helps with the easy creation of additional 3D graphics on top of UE projects, or it can also be used on its own.
  • Using Aximmetry also makes it possible to add complex 2D graphics and text.
