Introduction
Aximmetry requires one of two methods of checking the validity of your license before the use of the program:
- online checking (requires live internet access during at least one instance of launching of Aximmetry within the last 24 hours)
- use of a dongle key (requires an Aximmetry-provided dongle key)
This document discusses the latter method, namely the use of a dongle key to activate and use your Aximmetry license.
IMPORTANT: The use of a dongle key is strongly recommended in cases where the Aximmetry PC does not connect to the internet or does not have a reliable internet connection (e.g. exhibitions, shooting at third-party and open-air locations).
What is a Dongle?
A Dongle is a USB device dedicated to activating Aximmetry offline (i.e. without an Internet connection).
Dongles for Aximmetry are provided by Aximmetry Technologies and can be requested by contacting us at sales@aximmetry.com.
Since dongles are hardware, we use shipping services to mail them to you. This takes time, so we recommend planning ahead of your needs for dongles.
NOTE: A Dongle can be used for any edition: Studio, or Broadcast & Film (also for older versions, including Professional Edition and SE and DE products).
NOTE: A Dongle can only be used for lifetime licenses. It cannot be used for trial or rental licenses.
How to Activate Aximmetry with Dongle
After receiving your dongle via mail, proceed with the following steps:
1. Plug your Dongle into your computer
2. Start Aximmetry Composer
- Aximmetry will automatically recognize the Dongle and set up the activation information for you.
3. In Aximmetry Composer click Help then click About Aximmetry Composer...
- Check the highlighted area (see below) of the pop-up window to see if the license details are correct:
NOTE: If they are correct, proceed to point 4.

4. The activation is ready
IMPORTANT: The dongle must be plugged into the computer at all times running Aximmetry.
Using Dongles for Multiple Machines
IMPORTANT: If you have multiple machines for Aximmetry each machine needs a separate Dongle.
You should follow the above steps for every machine after receiving your dongles.
