Introduction
This document discusses the type of delays the LED Camera compounds manage, including why and where they need to be adjusted.
IMPORTANT: The correct use of the parameters described below depends on your studio setup. Please refer to the relevant use-case scenario to finalize your settings:

This document supposes that all camera inputs (including tracking device inputs as well) are already set up.
NOTE: AR Tracking Delay and AR Zoom Delay have already been discussed in earlier documents. To learn more about them, please refer to the following document:
Delays
Delays in LEDWallCam Compounds
The LEDWallCam compounds have the following delays defined:
Picture Delay
Picture Delay defines the time it takes for Aximmetry's LED Wall output to return to Aximmetry via the studio camera's video input. This is crucial for synchronizing multiple features:
- Syncing the Digital Extension with Tracked Cameras
- Syncing the switching between multiple cameras
- Syncing Animations crossing the borders of the Digital Extension and the physical LED Wall.
NOTE: A single frame completes the following route to return to Aximmetry:
- render machine output (Aximmetry's output)
- LED processor (input & output)
- LED Wall (input & display)
- Studio Camera (capture & output)
- render machine input (studio camera video input)
To adjust this parameter go to the CAMERAS control board, and select the SELECT CAMERA control panel:
Look for the Picture Delay Cam X pins:
Recommended method: Turn ON Detect Picture Delay to let Aximmetry automatically calculate and set the correct Picture Delay CAM X value(s).
NOTE: Detect Picture Delay will measure the picture delay for every active video input (active INPUT X control panel).
NOTE: For the Detect Picture Delay to work properly, the fitting of the virtual and physical LED Walls has to be done. To learn more about the fitting, please refer to the following document:
Fitting of the Virtual and Physical LED Walls
Manual method: start increasing the value of the relevant Picture Delay CAM X, while you (or the studio camera operator) keep panning the camera left and right, and check for the synchronization of the camera video input and the Digital Extension movement.
NOTE: Picture Delay CAM X is the delay in frames that will be applied to the studio camera's video input.
Animation Delay
Animation Delay is the amount of time in frames for animations to be started later, so that animations are displayed in sync on the LED wall image and the Digital Extension.
On Single-Machine setups, this should be ignored.
On Multi-Machine setups, the Animation Delay's value is calculated automatically by Aximmetry, based on the Picture Delay CAM X pins' values.
To use this parameter, a simple logic needs to be created in the Flow Editor:
NOTE: The Animation trigger delay (Delay module) can be linked to any trigger input pin, including those present on Sequencer modules and Unreal modules.
