Scene Positioning

Author:

Introduction

This document discusses how you can adjust the position and rotation of the virtual scene to find the most suitable perspective for your production.

Positioning the Virtual Scene

Go to the INPUTS control board, then select the SCENE control panel:

On the Pin Values panel using the Base Cam Transf property, you can set the relative position of the virtual and real space, thus determining which part of the virtual scene is seen on the LED walls and from what angle:

The Base Cam Transformation parameters are as follows:

Pos - Position, in order of appearance, these are the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the virtual scene. These parameters use meters for measurement.
Rot - Rotation, in order of appearance, these are the rX, rY, and rZ coordinates of the virtual scene. These parameters use degrees for measurement.

NOTE: You can learn more about Camera and Head Transformations here.

The Base Cam Transf pin is also directly exposed on the LEDWallCam compounds:

Switching Between Multiple Scene Positions

It is possible to preset multiple scene positions and switch between them instantly in Aximmetry. To do this, insert a Switch Transformation module and create the following connections:

NOTE: Switching between transformations using the above depicted logic will make Aximmetry jump (from one frame to the next) from one position to the other.

Adjustable Parameters of the Switch Transformation Module

By selecting the Switch Transformation module, on the Pin Values tab, you can specify numerous transformation values and trigger or select them:

Selected

You can set any integer value for the Selected pin. Once set, the module will output the corresponding Value input pin's transformation.

Select X

You can trigger the output of any Value input pin by simply clicking on the Trigger button.

Smooth Switching Between Multiple Scene Positions

To switch between positions with a smooth transition, insert the "Smooth Transformation" module and make the following connections:

Adjustable Parameters of the Smooth Transformation Module

By selecting the Smooth Transformation module, on the Pin Values tab you can specify numerous pin values.

Reset

When triggered, the reset will initiate a smooth transformation from the Init Value (Initial Value).

Delay

Delay sets the amount of time the smooth transformation takes. It uses seconds for measurement. Its default value is 0.5 (half a second).
