Introduction
This document discusses how to set up Aximmetry as a Media Object Server in ENPS.
Basic Information
MOS Roles
The Aximmetry MOS has two different roles in the ENPS.
IMPORTANT: You can use a single computer for both these roles. However, for added reliability and redundancy, it is recommended to use two computers, one for each role.
Web Server
The Web Server runs the HTML plugin used to access the MOS library (containing the prepared media objects) and to prepare the Running Orders.
Host
The Host provides the real-time graphics used and broadcast in the show.
ENPS version
We recommend using ENPS version 9.5.1 or later.
Settings in ENPS
MOS Configuration
Start ENPS System Maintenance and go to MOS Configuration. Create an entry with the following parameters:
- Address: the same MOS ID you set in Aximmetry Preferences. The default is main.aximmetry.mos
- Description: the name of your choice for this MOS
- IP/Endpoint: the IP of the Aximmetry PC used as the Host
- ActiveX: ENPSHTMLHost
- Program: ENPSNEWS
- Default Settings: URL=http://the IP of the Aximmetry PC used as the Web Server:21468/mos
- MOS Version: 2.8.4
- Local DragDrop: Off
- Story Send: check
- Timing Bar Position: check
- Browser Type: Edge WebView2
- Leave the rest blank.
Rundowns
For each rundown you create in the ENPS Client, turn on MOS Story Send for the Aximmetry MOS.
NOTE: It can only be set while MOS Control Active is off.
Settings in Aximmetry
NOTE: Below, only the settings specific to ENPS are listed. For all Aximmetry-related MOS settings, please refer to the following document:
How to Set Up MOS in Aximmetry
Go to Edit / Preferences / MOS Control and make the following settings:
- Enable MOS control: check
- MOS ID: the same ID you set as Address in the ENPS MOS Configuration
- NCS IP: the IP of the ENPS server PC
- NCS ID: the ID of the ENPS system; it is always the NetBIOS name of the ENPS server
- Expose compounds in...: specify one or more root folders where you store your MOS object compounds
- Enable play/stop control...: check if you want to control the items from the ENPS Client, otherwise leave it off.
- Close TCP after each communication: check (not mandatory, but ENPS itself works the same way, too)
- Leave the rest on default.
