Introduction
This documentation discusses the setup process of the HTC Vive tracking system.
NOTE: This documentation only provides help for performing your own experiments with HTC Vive. Aximmetry does not officially support using HTC Vive as a camera tracking system. We strive to create the means for your experiments in Aximmetry, but we cannot provide any support for these and we cannot guarantee any result.

Setting up Vive with SteamVR
First, install SteamVR with Steam store.
Once SteamVR is running and has the hardware turned on and paired, then paired hardware should be visible as blue items.
Tracker: Base station: Head Mounted Device (HMD):
Next, the area of the room has to be defined and the devices calibrated. Access the Room Setup option by clicking on the button at the top left corner.
Depending on the setup, Standing Only option can be enough.
Once devices are paired and calibrated with SteamVR, Aximmetry does not need a running SteamVR to get the tracking data.
However, the Head Mounter Device (HDM) has to be physically connected all the time even if it is not used.
Base Station version 1.0 and Base Station version 2.0 can not be used together.

Calibrating with Aximmetry
With Aximmetry Camera Calibrator
We recommend calibrating your Antilatency device using Aximmetry Camera Calibrator, as it is an automatized, easy-to-use solution.
With Aximmetry Basic Calibrator
Alternatively, you can also choose to calibrate with Aximmetry Basic Calibrator, which offers a manual calibration workflow.
